Baseball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss

Portland lost against White House back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 4-3.

Jay Guthrie made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Portland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for White House, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Coming up, Portland will face off against Davidson Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for White House, they will take on Christian Community at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
