It was a good run, but Van Nuys unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Sylmar Spartans, falling 31-6. The Wolves lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 53-0 score last time.

Van Nuys' loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Sylmar, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Van Nuys will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Panorama at 2:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Sylmar, they will take on Bishop Alemany at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
