Lone Star hadn't done well against Briggsdale recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Longhorns had just enough and edged out the Falcons 3-2. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Lone Star was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-100), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10.

Jade Kuntz paced Lone Star's offense, picking up 16 kills. Kuntz got some help from Grace Cochran and her 30 assists. Finally, Audrey Wade kept Lone Star's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Lone Star is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Briggsdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Lone Star wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Vanguard Classical East on the 18th. As for Briggsdale, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Fleming on the 17th.
