Basketball Recap: River Valley Comes Up Short

River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 48-38 to the Shelby Whippets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Whippets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-34 back in December of 2025.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Shelby, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Looking ahead, River Valley will take on Mansfield Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelby, they will welcome Clear Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
