Soccer Recap: Emerson Takes a Loss

Emerson lost against Memorial back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Emerson Mavericks fell just short of the Memorial Warriors by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Warriors are ranked 56th).

Emerson's goal came courtesy of Brynn Groves, who's now up to six this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Emerson and nudges their season record down to 10-7. As for Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-5 record this season.

Emerson wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Centennial on the 7th. Memorial has also already played their next game (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
