Baseball Game Preview: Cloudland Highlanders vs. Johnson County Longhorns

Cloudland is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Johnson County a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Cloudland Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Johnson County Longhorns at 4:30 p.m. Cloudland has given up an average of 15.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cloudland lost 23-1 to Happy Valley on Thursday.

Cloudland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Walker Gouge, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Johnson County came up short against University School on Saturday and fell 7-2.

Johnson County's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Cloudland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cloudland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Johnson County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
