Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stephenville). Everything went their way against the Big Spring Steers on Friday as they made off with a 22-7 win.
Matti-Lynn Dunnam was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Williams, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Stephenville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Stephenville's victory bumped their record up to 16-13-1. As for Big Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
Stephenville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Steers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
