The Heritage Academy Heroes will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Holy Family Academy Padres at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Heritage Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on New Way Learning Academy with a sharp 19-0 win. The Heroes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Maverik Ray was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Ray was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Bourne Jones was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one double. Carson Grover was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Holy Family Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Wickenburg Christian Academy, falling 11-5.

Holy Family Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Heritage Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
