Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Hills Find Success

Groves came into Monday's match looking for another win against Bloomfield Hills, but Briana Young wouldn't allow it. The Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks put the hurt on the Groves Falcons with a sharp 55-33 win on Monday thanks in part to Young, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 11 boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Brielle Brooks, who posted seven points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave her a new career-high.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Genevieve Meihn, who put up ten points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Schwanik, who scored nine points.

Bloomfield Hills' record is now 9-11. As for Groves, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Bloomfield Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-47 victory against Southfield Arts & Tech on the 5th. Groves does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
