Basketball Recap: James F. Byrnes Skates Past Wade Hampton with Ease

There's no place like home for James F. Byrnes, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Wade Hampton Generals 74-25. The match marked the Rebels' most dominant win of the season so far.

Leading James F. Byrnes to victory were Ellison Silver and Makayla Barnes. Silver posted 16 points along with six assists and four steals, while Barnes earned 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Barnes a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Evans, who had nine points and three steals.

James F. Byrnes pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Wade Hampton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James F. Byrnes will head out to square off against Gaffney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaffney will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something James F. Byrnes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wade Hampton, they will head out on the road to challenge Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
