Basketball Game Preview: Atwater Falcons vs. Golden Valley Cougars

The Atwater Falcons will head out to challenge the Golden Valley Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Atwater earned a 57-47 victory over Los Banos. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Tigers are ranked 591st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Golden Valley didn't have too much trouble with Buhach Colony on Friday as they won 56-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Atwater's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Golden Valley, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Atwater came up short against Golden Valley in their previous meeting back in January, falling 55-44. Can Atwater avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
