Haynes Academy faced Archbishop Chapelle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Haynes Academy fell just short of Archbishop Chapelle by a score of 3-2. Haynes Academy's defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Haynes Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 21-25, 25-8, 16-14.

Marilyn Voitier paced Haynes Academy's offense, picking up 28 kills. Voitier got some help from Cameron Vaughn and her 34 assists. Voitier was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Archbishop Chapelle was led to victory by Avah Gilchrist and Aubrey Frey. Gilchrist had 15 digs, while Frey had seven digs and three aces.

Haynes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Archbishop Chapelle, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 16-10 record.

Haynes Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Livingston Collegiate Academy on the 14th. As for Archbishop Chapelle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against West Jefferson on the 14th.
