Basketball Recap: Cass Takes a Loss

Cass suffered their biggest loss since November 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cartersville Hurricanes, falling 76-52. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-51 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Wyatt Thomason, who went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points for Cartersville. Nas Bennett was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points and eight boards.

Cass moved to 8-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cartersville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cass will venture away from home to face off against Cedartown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cartersville, they will head out on the road to challenge Hiram at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cartersville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
