Soccer Game Preview: Howard Tech vs. Cookeville

The Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers will head out to face off against the Cookeville Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Howard Tech is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Cleveland just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Blue Raiders by a score of 2-1.

Howard Tech's goal came courtesy of Jaime Roman Pablo, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, Cookeville entered their tilt with Siegel on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Stars. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Cookeville were the better team in the second half.

Cookeville's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those ten matches. As for Howard Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7-1.
