Volleyball Recap: Millbrook Falls to Ashley in First Game of Season

Millbrook kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to the Ashley Screaming Eagle. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Millbrook was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-22.

Caitlyn Axe paced Millbrook's offense, picking up 11 kills. Axe got some help from Annabelle Walters and her 13 assists. Harper Weddington controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Nina Cave was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and two aces.

Ashley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Millbrook didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Heritage on the 20th. As for Ashley, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against D.H. Conley on the 20th.
