The Leake Central Gators will head out to face off against the Union Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Leake Central took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Leake County with a sharp 16-4 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Leake Central's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jadarius Mitchell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Kristian Carson was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Leake Central: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-11 otherwise. Gvaughn Leflore also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Leake Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Union posted their closest victory since March 3rd on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Sebastopol. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.
Austin Lee was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Rafe Manning, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Union's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Leake Central, their record now sits at 3-12.
Leake Central suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Union in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
