Swansboro came tearing into Saturday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the West Carteret Patriots 84-70. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-44 last Tuesday.

Swansboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonah Holt, who went 9-for-15 on his way to 19 points along with six assists and five boards. Holt's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jermaine Cunningham, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points and eight rebounds.

West Carteret lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jejuan Tripp, who went 8-for-20 en route to 22 points. Jay Murray was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points and eight boards.

Swansboro's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.0 points over those games. As for West Carteret, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

As of now, neither Swansboro nor West Carteret have any future games scheduled.
