Lakeland had won four straight games and Kelly Mallon did her part to make it five on Monday. Everything went the Hornets' way against the Pearl River Pirates as they made off with a 3-0 victory for which the team can thank Mallon, who had 25 digs, 18 kills, and two aces. Mallon is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Lakeland not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Pearl River between 17 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.

Lakeland's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Pearl River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lakeland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Yorktown on the 8th. Pearl River has also already played their next match (against Nanuet), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
