Softball Recap: Valley Regional Warriors vs. East Hampton Bellringers        
        
		
            
 After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Somers, Valley Regional was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They blew past the East Hampton Bellringers 15-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Valley Regional considering their one-run performance the  contest before.
  Kellyn Kolber made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Kolber was also big at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing four bases while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Riley Soares and  Elleigh Ortola did most of the damage at the plate:  Soares  went 2-for-6 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple, while  Ortola  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of her six plate appearances.  Helen Manco was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-5.
 On East Hampton's side,  Sophia Long made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Shea Gaughran, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 The  win  got Valley Regional back to even at 1-1.
 Coincidentally, Valley Regional and East Hampton will both be playing Cromwell the next time they take the field. Valley Regional will  host Cromwell at 3:45  p.m.  on Friday, while East Hampton will head out to face them  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
