Marblehead posted their biggest victory since February 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Winthrop Vikings with a sharp 69-49 win. Given the Magicians' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Vikings are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Marblehead and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Winthrop, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marblehead will venture away from home to take on Beverly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marblehead has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Winthrop, they will head out to square off against Swampscott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
