Recap: Orme Warriors vs. Verde Valley Coyotes

The Orme Warriors were the 59-35 winner over the Verde Valley Coyotes when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Orme took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Verde Valley on Tuesday. Orme's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Orme lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bartek Kreglewski. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Kreglewski also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jack Welty, who scored six points.

Angelo Ayuel was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds for Verde Valley. Teo Dickey was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.

Orme's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Verde Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orme will take on Caurus Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Verde Valley, they will be playing at home against Leupp Boarding at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
