Basketball Recap: Algonac Comes Up Short

Algonac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Cardinal Mooney Catholic Cardinals, falling 72-49. The Muskrats were probably out for revenge after losing 81-56 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Algonac now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Cardinal Mooney Catholic, their record is now 2-5.

Algonac and Cardinal Mooney Catholic could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Algonac (ranked 457th) will meet Croswell-Lexington (ranked 109th) at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Similarly, Cardinal Mooney Catholic will face off against Sacred Heart Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025 down 534 places (555 vs. 21).
