Cape Fear got themselves on the board against Douglas Byrd on Wednesday, but Douglas Byrd never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 25-0 win. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Ethan Cobb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Wallace, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. Spencer Smith also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cape Fear always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Cape Fear and bumps their season record up to 15-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Douglas Byrd, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
