Baseball Recap: Oakcrest Comes Up Short

Oakcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 18-5 to the Holy Spirit Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 last Tuesday.

Oakcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Holy Spirit, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakcrest will host Hammonton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Spirit, they will face off against Absegami at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Braves a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
