Recap: Ville Platte Bulldogs vs. Sterlington Panthers

The Ville Platte Bulldogs and the Sterlington Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Ville Platte Bulldogs had to settle for second. They took a 82-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), Ville Platte still had to take the loss.

Sterlington found their leader in underclassman Cooper Nelson, who scored 34 points along with five assists and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Khristian Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Ville Platte and nudges their season record down to 16-16. As for Sterlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season.

Ville Platte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sterlington will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against French Settlement at 6:00 p.m. on February 27th.
