Basketball Recap: Jefferson Victorious

If Ennis wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Jefferson, they should've done a better job of containing Tyler Frydenlund. The Jefferson Panthers skirted past the Ennis Mustangs 61-58 thanks in part to Frydenlund, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. He has become a key player for Jefferson: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Stevens, who posted eight points and 14 rebounds. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Jefferson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ennis, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Jefferson will challenge Broadwater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Broadwater likes a good challenge. As for Ennis, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Whitehall at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
