Softball Recap: Mohave Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Mohave faced off against Flagstaff on Saturday. Mohave took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flagstaff. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunderbirds of the 18-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Alyssa Donegan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Fernandez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Mohave and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Flagstaff, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4-1 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mohave beat Flagstaff by a score of 16-6 later that day.
