Baseball Recap: San Leandro Pirates vs. Head-Royce Jayhawks
San Leandro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Head-Royce Jayhawks.
Lorenzo Charles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
San Leandro's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Head-Royce, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Leandro will head out to challenge Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (San Leandro 3.2, Castro Valley 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Head-Royce, they will venture away from home to face off against Redwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
