Mary Persons took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Warner Robins a 4-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Callaway didn't have quite enough to beat Sandy Creek on Thursday and fell 3-2. The loss was the Cavaliers' first of the season.

The win got Mary Persons back to even at 1-1. As for Callaway, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
