Recap: Mountain View Academy Mustangs vs. East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs
The Mountain View Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell just short of East Palo Alto Academy by a score of 50-48. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mountain View Academy of the 70-63 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Mountain View Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daniel Malo, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Malo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zvi Weber, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds.
Mountain View Academy dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for East Palo Alto Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View Academy will square off against DCP Alum Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. DCP Alum Rock has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge El Primero at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
