Recap: Middletown Blue Dragons vs. St. Joseph Cadets
The Middletown Blue Dragons fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the St. Joseph Cadets on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 72-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cadets. Middletown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
TJ Wright was a one-man wrecking crew for St. Joseph as he scored 37 points. The game was Wright's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Febus, who scored 14 points.
Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Joseph, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bristol Central at 6:45 p.m. on January 3, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bristol Central is ranked 68th, while Middletown is ranked 63rd). St. Joseph will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bassick at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bassick is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
