Softball Recap: West Washington Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

West Washington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Paoli Rams as they made off with a 12-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Senators also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Meredith Deaton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Macy Lowery was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

West Washington pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Paoli, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

Coming up, West Washington will head out to face off against Perry Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Paoli, they will welcome Loogootee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
