Volleyball Recap: Archie Williams Takes a Loss

Archie Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Marin Mustangs. Peregrine Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Mustangs since Friday.

Archie Williams couldn't get the win, but they sure gave San Marin a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 28-30, 21-25, 25-15, 15-10.

Lydia Battaglia paced Archie Williams' offense, picking up 16 kills. Battaglia got some help from Alyse Rosen and her 37 assists. Rosen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Archie Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for San Marin, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-15.

Archie Williams has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Branson on the 15th. As for San Marin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Marin Catholic on the 15th.
