Baseball Recap: Pomona Takes a Loss

Pomona fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Green Mountain on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-3 to the Rams. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost six in a row.

Pomona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Werner, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pomona's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Green Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomona will challenge Conifer at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Green Mountain, they will square off against Golden at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Demons will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
