Softball Recap: West Chicago Takes a Loss

West Chicago was the 15-3 winner over Riverside-Brookfield when they last played one another on April 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 10-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tessa Banasiak was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Gallagher, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

West Chicago's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Riverside-Brookfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

West Chicago and Riverside-Brookfield should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Streamwood at 4:30 p.m. on May 8 with a big rank advantage (129 vs. 561). Meanwhile, Riverside-Brookfield (ranked 188th) will meet Elgin (ranked 522nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
