Soccer Game Preview: Christ the King vs. Polk County

The Christ the King Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Polk County Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Christ the King is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let South Stokes get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Christ the King's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while South Stokes are ranked 383rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Polk County). They put the hurt on Thomasville with a sharp 10-0 victory on Monday. Gabby Savaia was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Christ the King's win bumped their record up to 11-5-1. As for Polk County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4-1.

Christ the King took their win against Polk County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
