Star-studded backcourt will lead Riverside Academy's quest for 2A three-peat.

1. Riverside (Reserve)
2013-14 finish: 33-3, Class 2A state champions
Head coach: Tim Byrd

After winning back-to-back 2A state titles, the Rebels will go national this year with several appearances in top-flight showcase events and tournaments. Featuring Division I prospects Jordan Andrews (6-3, Sr., Youngstown State commitment), Herbert McGee (6-0, Jr.) and state tournament MVP Malik Crowfield (6-3, Jr.), Riverside has a backcourt on par with anybody inside or outside of Louisiana.

2. Scotlandville (Baton Rouge)
2013-14 finish: 34-2, Class 5A state runner-up
Head coach: Carlos Sample



The Hornets have won 30 or more games each of the last five seasons and expect to do so again behind senior guard LaMarcus Lee. Freshman sensation Javonte Smart is already being pegged as a top prospect in the 2018 class.

3. Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge)
2013-14 finish: 24-9, Class 1A state runner-up
Head coach: Jeffery Jones

The Chargers reached the Class 1A title game a year ago without a senior on the roster. Leading the list of returnees is Top 100 prospect Brandon Sampson (6-4, Sr., G) and Rhode Island commit Christion Thompson (6-4, Sr., G).

4. East Jefferson (Metairie)
2013-14 finish: 30-4, Class 4A state runner-up
Head coach: Ryan Dicharry



The Warriors reached the Class 4A state championship game a year ago and hope to take it one step further this season behind Blake Paul, a 6-8 senior forward with offers from programs like Houston, Louisiana Tech and UTEP.

5. Lakeview (Campti)
2013-14 finish: 29-5, Class 2A state runner-up
Head coach: DeVoderick Riley

Senior guard Tivonte Hardy (6-3) leads the high-scoring Gators, who averaged nearly 80 points per game in 2013-14. Getting past Riverside Academy in the 2A ranks will be a tall task, however.
