Basketball Recap: Palm Grove Christian's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Palm Grove Christian lost against New Jerusalem Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gators fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 50-48. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Palm Grove Christian lost, don't look at Carter Baker. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Baker is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Riehl, who posted eight points along with ten boards and eight assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Palm Grove Christian fell to 4-1. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Palm Grove Christian and New Jerusalem Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Gators see the court they'll take on Ruskin Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, their break will end when they face Providence Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
