Baseball Recap: Lower Cape May Comes Up Short

Lower Cape May was the 6-2 winner over Cedar Creek when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers came up short against the Pirates on Wednesday, falling 12-1.

Lower Cape May saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt DiCave, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. DiCave has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Lower Cape May dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cedar Creek, their record now sits at 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lower Cape May will take on Middle Township at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cedar Creek, they will challenge Mainland Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
