Football Game Preview: South Medford Panthers vs. Clackamas Cavaliers

The South Medford Panthers will face off against the Clackamas Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

South Medford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 38-7 win over Oregon City. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Kellen Lefebvre had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 158 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Medford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oregon City only rushed for 46.

South Medford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Samuel Huxtable and Alijah Ingram.

Meanwhile, Clackamas didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Liberty on Friday, but they still walked away with a 35-31 victory.

South Medford's record now sits at 6-4. As for Clackamas, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

South Medford strolled past Clackamas when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 51-33. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
