Baseball Recap: Smith Vo-Tech Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Smith Vo-Tech strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Franklin County Tech Eagles by a score of 6-3. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

James Lavallee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jarred Baer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Jorritsma, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Smith Vo-Tech's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Franklin County Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Smith Vo-Tech will take on South Hadley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin County Tech, they will challenge Mahar Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Senators at the right time seeing as the Senators are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
