Baseball Recap: Branham Finds Home Field Redemption Against Santa Teresa

There's no place like home for Branham, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past the Santa Teresa Saints 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Bruins: when they faced off against the Saints last Wednesday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Luka Knezevic was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Branham is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. Knezevic was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ryan Field was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Setser, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Branham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Branham's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Santa Teresa, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Branham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-3 win against Westmont on the 2nd. As for Santa Teresa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Willow Glen on the 2nd.
