Softball Recap: Mansfield Christian Comes Up Short

If Mansfield Christian was riding high fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Liberty Christian Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flames fell just short of the Vanlue Wildcats by a score of 10-9 on Thursday.

Kaci Pollard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Mansfield Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Vanlue, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield Christian will square off against Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vanlue, they will head out to square off against Crestline at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
