Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pontotoc

Pontotoc won against Columbus on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Warriors walked away with a 12-9 win over the Hernando Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Corbyn Clayton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clayton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Jaxon Dandridge was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cayson Witcher, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Pontotoc lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pontotoc's record is now 15-10-1. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pontotoc will welcome Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commodores have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Hernando, they will face off against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
