            Softball Recap: New Holstein Huskies vs. Reedsville Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            New Holstein had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Reedsville on Saturday. The Huskies never let the Panthers get on the board and left with  a   9-0  win. Considering the Huskies have won three contests by more than eight  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to  Makayla Meyer's shutout, as she gave up just three  hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Allie Heimermann was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  MaKenna Bink was another key player,  earning three  runs and two  stolen bases.
New Holstein has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Reedsville,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-7.
 New Holstein has already played their next game,  a  15-2  win against Green Lake/Princeton on the 26th. As for Reedsville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  12-9  victory against Princeton/Green Lake on the 26th.
