Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tate Sorensen and David Walter Lead Freeman to Victory

Freeman put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the White River Tigers 59-45.

Leading Freeman to victory were David Walter and Tate Sorensen. Walter went 9 for 13 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds, while Sorensen went 8 of 13 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Walter a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Peters, who posted nine points.

Freeman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Freeman's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for White River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Freeman will head out to face off against Howard at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Freeman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for White River, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kadoka at 5:30 p.m. on January 7th.
