Softball Game Preview: Horizon Honors Eagles vs. ALA - Anthem South Titans

The Horizon Honors Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the ALA - Anthem South Titans at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Horizon Honors has four straight victories, ALA - Anthem South has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Horizon Honors is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Morenci with a sharp 22-3 win on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Audriana Anglada was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Anglada was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Nicole Topete was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Isabella Singleton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Horizon Honors was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, ALA - Anthem South didn't have quite enough to beat Arizona Lutheran Academy on Tuesday and fell 11-10.

ALA - Anthem South's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Horizon Honors, their record is now 12-1.
