Athens had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lily Lowery, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Tedford, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Athens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mortimer Jordan only posted a batting average of .312.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 30-15. As for Mortimer Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-23.

As of now, neither Athens nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
