Baseball Recap: Bishop Mcguinness' Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Miami last Thursday, Bishop McGuinness came back down to earth. Bishop McGuinness fell 9-5 to the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks on Friday. The Fighting Irish's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Bishop McGuinness got a good showing from Ruben Munoz, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Munoz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maddox Cotton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

Bishop McGuinness' loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Skutt Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Bishop McGuinness will face off against Kingfisher at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Skutt Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-0 win against Edmond North on the 22nd.
