Softball Recap: Hondo Owls vs. Pleasanton Eagles

Hondo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasanton Eagles on Tuesday. The Owls were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Hondo got a good showing from Madi Luna, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Alex Flores and Ainsley Bohlen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Flores scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Bohlen went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Xevi Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Hondo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-4 defeat against Carrizo Springs on the 13th. Pleasanton has also already played their next game (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
